On Thursday, February 22, Toowoomba police conducted patrols in the Toowoomba CBD as part of Operation Quebec Yield.
This operation is specifically targets drivers not obeying the follow roads rules:
- Driving through a red light;
- Using a mobile phone whilst driving;
- Not wearing a seat belt;
- Number plate offences;
- Unregistered vehicles;
- Uninsured vehicles;
During the three-hour operation police detected the following offences:
14 x drivers using hand held mobile phones
2 x Drug Driving
2 x unregistered motor vehicles
1 x uninsured motor vehicles
2 x other traffic offences were also detected.
Police would like to reinforce to motorists to be mindful of the fatal five and stay safe on the roads.
