It's the safety car that caused a bit of a storm during the Bathurst 1000.

Scott McLaughlin won at Bathurst on Sunday, but not without controversy, with his teammate Fabian Coulthard holding up the rest of the race behind him during a safety car.

Since then, the radio messages between Coulthard and his team - as well as with second-placed Shane van Gisbergen and his own team - have been revealed.

"It's quite damning for McLaughlin's team...described as 'disgraced' by some of the pundits," Mick said.
