There will be a minute’s silence  ahead of tonight’s Richmond v Carlton season opener at the MCG tonight as a show of support for the Muslim community following last Friday’s terrorist attack in New Zealand.

Teams in all nine games will also wear black armbands to commemorate the victims of the Christchurch massacre that claimed 50 lives at two separate mosques.

AFL CEO Gillon McLachlan has also written to Muslim community organisations to express the league’s support, AFL.com.au reports.

Damian Barrett has question marks over four clubs for 2019.
