There's A Big Beach Soccer Tournament Down Freo Way This Weekend

Look out soccer (well, football) fans... a big beach soccer tournament is being held at Freo's Bathers Beach this weekend.

The tournament will feature around 160 players in 20 teams across three competitions.

The women’s and mixed teams will be playing from noon to 6pm on Saturday followed by the men’s competition on Sunday. With the weather forecast predicted to be in the mid to high 30s (at this stage), it could be the best place to hang out and watch some awesome athletes in action.

Fremantle Mayor Brad Pettitt said the tournament promised to be a great spectacle.

“What better way to spend an afternoon than to watch some spectacular beach soccer at our beautiful Bathers Beach... and when the soccer is done why not kick back, relax and watch the sunset over the Indian Ocean at Perth’s only licensed beach.”
