NRL CEO Todd Greenberg has delivered a scathing putdown of NSW Labor leader Michael Daley after he threatened to pull funding for the new Sydney Football Stadium.
Daley told media on Monday that, if he were voted premier, he would scrap the $1.5 billion earmarked by the Berejiklian government for the SFS rebuild and upgrade to ANZ Stadium and instead funnel the money into schools and hospitals.
But Greenberg slammed the announcement on Triple M on Wednesday morning, assuring The Grill Team that the NRL would have no problem in looking elsewhere when it came to Grand Final time.
"There is absolutely no doubt Sydney needs new sporting facilities," Greenberg said. "We are so far behind the rest of the country.
"The government is without doubt spending billions and billions of dollars on hospitals and schools and freeways.
"But the simple fact is that if you don't build new facilities, we're going to miss out."
