First they take the keys, then they take the car, now they have the power. Around three weeks ago a set of car keys were stolen from a home in Slade Point. The thief allegedly returned Wednesday night to take the car that the keys belonged to. Police are now searching for the Grey Subaru and ask anyone with information to come forward. It's not unusual for a thief with keys to come back for the car later and Police urge anyone with stolen or missing keys to replace them.

The Katter Australia Party's Safer Waterways Bill debate in Parliament has been adjourned. The Bill aims to see better management of crocodiles in the North and would include an authority based in Cairns to deal with sightings on the spot. Someone’s been overly keen to get the BBQ going. Between 6pm Tuesday and 6am Wednesday twenty-two bottles of gas were stolen from a secure and caged area beside a Gargett business.
