Kick off your seasonal celebrations at the Gladstone CBD precinct Christmas Street Party this Sunday 2nd December!

There'll be everything from jumping castles to face painting, and even a few surprises on the night. Plus, the official lighting of the Library Square Christmas Tree by Gladstone Mayor Matt Burnett at sunset.

Cr Burnett said that this year's street party is expected to be "one of the biggest and brightest" yet.

The Street Party is one of the many great activities Council have on during the lead up to Christmas. It’s an ideal place for families and friends to get together. There will be plenty of food and market stalls lining the street, so you can leave well-fed and with gifts to put under the Christmas tree.

- Cr Burnett

It's happening at Gladstone CBD (Goondoon Street) on Sunday 2nd December from 4pm.

And did you know your kids can send a letter to Santa in the North Pole all the way from right here in your local Gladstone Regional Council Library?!

Every child who sends a letter, including their name and address, will receive a reply from Santa himself.

The Letters to Santa initiative will run from Monday 26th November - Friday 14th December (so Santa and his elves have enough time to send out all of their replies!).
