Three Female Musicians Were Attacked At Their Gigs In Australia This Weekend

Three Australian female musicians have called out "disgusting behaviour" after being harassed and assaulted at gigs over the weekend.

Kira Puru, Alex The Astronaut and WAAX front woman Marie DeVita have taken to social media to share their upsetting experiences and call out their attackers.

The details show a disturbing side to what life for female artists can be like. The posts make for difficult reading and demonstrate amazing courage in the face of unacceptable physical, emotional and verbal attacks.

Kira addressed the incident saying ; "It’s frustrating to not even be able to get through a 30 minute set without some gronk harassing me and commenting on my body".
