Three young blokes have not only managed to pull off an extremely applaudable prank at the footy but have been rewarded with merch as a result.

AFC Fylde (a fifth-tier English club) fans Jak, Tom and Timo were at a home game on Tuesday evening when they channeled their inner Bart Simpson and headed to the call box with a request.

Stand-in announcer Liam Brown was happy to help and took the note the trio handed over, which read: "My dad's [car is] blocked in and it's an emergency - could you read this out?"

Brown then unwittingly asked the crowd if the owner of "NE14 ABJ" was in attendance, before someone put him out of his misery and told him what he'd just said.

"I've been well and truly had," he then told the hundreds of people who had gathered to watched Fylde's 4-1 win over Ramsbottom United.

The boys could be heard laughing "he actually said it!" as they scarpered back to their seats but later came forward and outted themselves.

"It was a great bit of harmless fun that snuck through, and it put a smile on the face of tens of thousands of people today," club chairman David Haythornthwaite said in a statement on their website.

"The least we could do was return the favour and kit them out with our home strip and a goodie bag.

"Hopefully this will be a memory that'll stay with them forever as supporters!"
