Three boys were charged on Sunday following the alleged unlawful entry of a Mulgrave Road restaurant.

 

Police will allege the trio forced entry to the premises at around 4.15pm. Once inside, attempts were made to force entry to a cash register and a refrigerator before the three fled on foot after an alarm was activated.

 

The offenders split up, however police crews were able to locate and arrest them on several streets in the vicinity within 30 minutes.

 

Two boys aged 16 and 17 from Manunda and Gordonvale were each charged with entering premises with intent.

 

The third boy, a 17-year-old from Manunda, was similarly charged however he was also further charged with an additional 11 offences arising from numerous other unrelated matters.

 

Those charges include multiple counts of burglary, unlawful use of motor vehicles, stealing and unlawfully entering premises. They relate to offences allegedly committed at Cairns City, Manunda, Manoora, Edge Hill, Redlynch and Westcourt between April 4 and Sunday.
