Tom Browne Says St Kilda Face A Tough Decision Over Paddy McCartin

Tom Browne says that St Kilda face a tough decision over Paddy McCartin this weekend, although the 2014 pick one will not retire.

“They’ve got to work out whether they put him on the long-term injury list, which would free up a spot for the mid-season draft,” Browne said.

“I think they will. He definitely won’t retire, I’ve confirmed that with the club over the last 24 hours, there’s been some murmurings around that.

“I think he definitely wants to play on, but the conservative approach is to put him on ice.”

McCartin has had eight concussions since he came to the club, and has only managed 35 games in five seasons.

The mid-season draft is on Monday.
