“Alex is recovering at hospital this morning, he obviously had some surgery on his arm yesterday,” Browne said.

“He will miss up to eight weeks of footy.

“The version of the story he gave the club is that he was at a house party on Saturday night, a friend’s house, an Australia day house party, [and] he had a bit of a scuffle that at some point with some mates and broke his arm… there’s not much more to it than that.

“Obviously the Blues will be disappointed that he drinking I guess to the extent that he broke his arm, so that’s not ideal and they’ll look at some kind of internal sanction in that regard.

“But Alex has been training well…. I don’t think there’s much more to the story.”

Fasolo played 101 games for Collingwood after being taken at pick 45 in the 2010 draft.

He went to Carlton as an unrestricted free agent in the 2018 off-season.
