Geelong forward Tom Hawkins has been charged with striking Hawthorn’s James Sicily after a third quarter incident at the MCG yesterday.

Hawkins can accept a $2000 sanction for the hit.

The AFL made the match review findings available today:

"Tom Hawkins, Geelong Cats, has been charged with Striking James Sicily, Hawthorn during the third quarter of the Round Five match between Hawthorn and the Geelong Cats, played at the MCG on Monday April 22.

"In summary he can accept a $2000 sanction with an early plea.

"Based on the available evidence, the incident was assessed as Intentional Conduct with Low Impact and Body Contact. The incident was classified as a $3000 sanction as a first offence. The player can accept a $2000 sanction with an early plea."
