Tony Galati - From Spud King to Cherry King
Sounds like a tasty pie!
This morning top WA produce retailers went head to head in the fight for the honour of being crowned WA's Cherry King or Queen at the annual Market City Charity Cherry Auction.
The fun event puts the seasons first cherries under the hammer to raise funds for the Perth Children's Hospital Foundation.
This morning Spudshed's Tony Galati battled it out with last year's winner John Ale, from Tony Ale and Co, eventually taking home the 5kg box of cherries for a tidy $100,000, and the highly coveted title of Cherry King.
