Toowoomba and Darling Downs Named Fattest in Queensland
Ouch – that hurts!
Toowoomba is a growing town in more ways than one, the Garden City has just claimed a rather unflattering title with Toowoomba and the Darling Downs having been given the unenviable title of the “fattest” in Queensland.
New statistics show that two thirds of all adults, and a quarter of all kids here in Toowoomba rank as either obese or overweight.
Toowoomba took the crown over Townsville, Mount Isa and Ipswich, all with obesity rates at 70 or 71% of the population.
