Toowoomba Regional Council is inviting the community to share their stories about the building located at number 174 Margaret Street where a new laneway will stand.
They are asking the community to provide feedback on the draft concept to help shape the plan for the new lane way is located in the heart.
The new laneway will provide an important future connection from Margaret Street through to Jessie Street, Annand Street businesses and public car parks.
The concept plan for the development will include public amenities, weather protection, space for community markets and events, opportunities to incorporate public art, wayfinding information and green, leafy areas to stop and sit at.
Council would love to hear your ideas and thoughts on the new laneway, and if you have any stories, memories, or pics that capture the essence of 174 Margaret Street, make sure you send them through to Council.
“The community responses will help create an identity for the new laneway and guide the development of the final concept plan,” Cr Anne Glasheen (TRC Planning and Development Committee) said.
You can provide feedback on the draft concept plan and share your memories, stories and images until 5pm on January 31, 2019.
The draft concept plan is available here for viewing 174 Margaret Street.
