A Toowoomba nurse who was caught driving almost five times the legal limit has appeared in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court.

The man was roadside tested by police on February 20, on Prince Street, Harlaxton after a police patrol witnessed a car coming in the other direction, accelerating passed the patrol car, veering onto the wrong side of the road.

Police followed the car to a residence, and after speaking with the driver, tested him. He returned a breath/alcohol reading of 0.236.

The nurse plead guilty to the charge of driving under the influence of alcohol he was fined $1500 and had his driver’s licence suspended for 16 months.
