Astrid Neiberding lost her mum to Leukaemia in 2016, after an 18 month battle.

Treatment included a Bone Marrow Transplant in Brisbane and undergoing chemotherapy in Townsville.

It was all going to plan and Astrid’s mother was in remission, but sadly she had a relapse shortly after the transplant.

To celebrate her mum’s life, Astrid will trek to Mt Everest Base Camp this week while raising funds for the Leukaemia Foundation.

It has been a long road of training for the William Ross State High School Guidance Officer.
