In a history making move, a Townsville first will happen this Saturday. 

November 24, 2018 will go down in Townsville's history as the day the city hosted it's first 'Welcome Baby to Country Ceremony'. 

The event will see more than 50 babies from newborn to 2 years of age getting involved in the ceremony. 

Parents and families will take an oath to the child, promising to ensure they have a sense of belonging, knowledge of where they come from and their family connections. 

The ceremony will take place at the Riverway Grove on Village Boulevard in Thuringowa from 3:00pm.
