Traffic heading west out of the city is at a standstill after a multi-car collision on the West Gate Freeway.
LATEST NEWS:
A multi-car collision and a diesel spill on the freeway near Altona North has clogged up traffic around the West Gate and on nearby major reads.
The crash involved two cars and has completely closed the freeway at Millers Rd.
Andrew Crook from Vic Roads recommended not driving around there if you could.
"Avoid the freeway at all costs," he said.
"Consider taking the train home, or if you must drive, take Footscray or Dynon Rd through Footscray, then Geelong Rd to get back to the freeway."
