Some truckies says the $80 million safety upgrade spend on the Toowoomba Range has made the road more dangerous.
Questions over its safety are being raised after last Fridays truck rollover on The Toowoomba Range which caused a gridlock for motorists, with many not getting down The Range until late that evening.
Work on The Toowoomba Range has seen some sections of it straightened and steeper angle at the saddle, the alignment and the surface of The Range has changed and the road appears more slippery.
Some truck drivers are categorizing the upgraded range in the top 5 most dangerous crossings in Australia with some saying they would rather take the notorious Cunningham’s Gap than face the newly upgraded Toowoomba Range.
