Two men fronted the Toowoomba Magistrates Court last week in relation to the possession of 70kg of marijuana police allege was found in the false floor of a trailer.

The men were taken into custody on Monday (February 25) after the two vehicles they were driving were pulled over by police near Goondiwindi.

Police allege that a trailer being towed by one of the men had a false floor where they allegedly found 127 bags of marijuana weighing 550g each.  They also found firearms.

Police estimate the marijuana had a street value of up to $500,000.

The pair were charged with trafficking dangerous drugs as well as a range of drug-related matters and failing to give police the passwords to phones found with them.

One man was remanded in custody while the second man was granted bail with strict conditions.

Both men will appear for mention on all charges Thursday May 2 in the Southport Magistrates Court.  The case being transferred to the Gold Coast due to the fact that the trafficking charge arose from alleged incidents on the Gold Coast.
