Victoria seems to be on the mend with only 12 new locally acquired cases reported today. 

With numbers dwindling, Victorian residents and health officials hope this could mean the final week of lockdown for the state. 

All cases have so far been linked to known outbreaks with health officials confirming that 10 of the cases were in quarantine while infectious with only two infectious while out in the community. 

Two cases are believed to have only been infectious while out in the community for under a day.

The Minister for Health has commended those who self isolated immediately upon finding out they were close contacts. 

While numbers have been dwindling down over the past week, the numbers of cases requiring hospitalisation have risen, taking the number of people now in hospital with the virus to 10 with three of the 10 in the ICU. 

On Friday alone, there were 19,281 vaccines administered along with 39,846 test results received. 

So far, the number of cases linked to known outbreaks or clusters is 159, all are confirmed to have the Delta variant. 

Lockdown restrictions are expected to ease as of Friday 11:59PM, Tuesday July 27.
