Victorians should get ready to get wet as sub tropical weather hits the state.
Up to 50mm of rain is expected to fall on parts of the state in an hour – more than the month’s average rainfall.
Other areas will get between 5mm and 15mm, the Bureau says.
It will also be muggy, with the temperature due to hit 31C.
“It’s actually going to become quite humid and feel decidedly subtropical, especially through Wednesday and Thursday,” senior forecaster Chris Godfred said.
Forecasters warn the weather could cause flash flooding.
