Victorian Pfizer Supplies Set for a Huge Increase
Meeting the demands of Victorians
Canberra confirmed at Monday’s national cabinet meeting that Victoria’s allocation of the Pfizer vaccine will increase almost 40% next month to help meet the demand.
A spokesperson for Health Minister Greg Hunt revealed that the further allocation would increase Pfizer vaccinations from 407,000 doses in June to 560,000 in July.
It comes a week after advice changed on what shots should be given to Aussies aged 50-59 creating plenty of confusion.
Victoria's Pfizer allocation to increase by 40%
The latest vaccination data shows a third of elderly Victorians and half of over-50s still haven't received a shot.
Overall 27% of Victoria’s population has now received at least one dose of the covid vaccine.
More than 12,577 people received shots yesterday, and we should reach two million vaccinations any day now, with a total of 1,955,144 doses administered so far.
