A video reported to be of Israel Folau performing a baptism in a backyard pool has been hurriedly removed from the news.com.au website, more than likely as a result of it not being Israel Folau.

The story, headlined "Video of Israel Folau's backyard baptisms", claimed that the footage, which had been posted to Facebook, showed the controversial Wallabies star baptising Waratahs lock Le Roux Roets.

According to the story, Roets' "initiation took place at the Folau family property at Kenthurst in the city's northwest on April 7".

But the man purported to be Folau - aside from looking nothing like him - is missing the 30-year-old's distinctive upper arm tattoos.

It comes the day after Folau confirmed that he would be challenging Rugby Australia's decision to terminate his contract after they found he had committed a "high-level breach" in posts to his personal social media accounts.

Folau will now face a Code of Conduct hearing, the date of which is still to be confirmed.
