55-Year-Old Charged Over Haul
A man has been charged after investigators from State Crime Command’s Drug and Serious Crime Group seized a massive stash of cannabis in Wongawallan today.
Detectives executed a search warrant on the Wongawallan address on Friday morning, allegedly locating a purpose built facility designed for the hydroponic growth and cultivation of cannabis.
The haul weighed an estimated 500 kilograms with a value in excess of $500,000.
A 55-year-old man was arrested and charged with producing dangerous drugs, possessing dangerous drugs and possessing things in connection with the production of dangerous drugs.
He is expected to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on June 4.
