On Saturday night in ironic circumstances Johnathan Thurston took to footy field to raise funds for flood victims while heavy rain fell over 1300SMILES Stadium.
For each successful kick from the GOAT during the Toyota Hilux Kick for Cash, money went towards the GIVIT Flood Appeal.
At the end of the halftime spectacle, it was announced that from JT's kicks, and generous donations from North Queensland Toyota Cowboys, and Toyota Dealers that $10,000 would be given to the flood appeal.
Speaking with Minty after the half time drenching, JT said that 100% of the money raised will go to Townsville families.
North Queensland born golf sensation Karrie Webb jumped on the donations too and matched the $10,000 bringing the total to 20K on the night.
"I knew it wasn't going to be good, and obviously growing up here I was devastated to see everything that happened," Karrie told Minty.
