Triple M's Wayne Carey says naming the premiership cup after legendary player and coach Ron Barassi would be "a really fit reward".
“There was a conversation I reckon about a year ago about the premiership cup," he said on Triple M's Sunday Rub ahead of the Dees/Hawks clash.
"Now that’s what it’s called, our cup is just called the premiership cup."
LISTEN TO DUCK EXPLAIN:
Duck then went on to say the cup could be named after someone, and that Ron Barassi, a six-time premiership player and four-time premiership coach, would be fitting.
“The Ron Barassi Cup I think fits really well. I just think that he is that big a name in our game," he explained.
“You’ve got the Vince Lombardi Trophy in the NFL. I just think it’d be a really fit reward for Ron Barassi to have that cup named (after him)."
