Men's mental health and suicide rates are two topics close to our Robin's heart, and now she's pleading for Australia to re-think the way they speak about both.

Prompted by Sunday night's episode of 60 Minutes, which saw singer Guy Sebastian dedicate his new single Choir to his late friend Luke Liang, Robin was left frustrated with how we as a society deal with suicide.

"My children's father killed himself five years ago. It's personal, people," Robin said on Tuesday's The Big Breakfast with Marto, Robin and Nick Cody.

Robin is also urging anyone who may be concerned for a loved one to reach out, asking Marto and Nick for advice on how best to broach the topic with mates.
