Gold Coast City Council's working to keep joggers safe by clearing weeds from around a popular track in Varsity Lakes.

It's after a 43-year-old woman was attacked on Castello Circuit on Boxing Day, while another woman was grabbed by a man nearby back in April.

10 thousand dollars will now be spent clearing scrub 10 metres back from the path so joggers can see what's ahead.

Council's also looking at installing CCTV cameras in the area.
