After extremely hot conditions, cooler days are on the way for North Queenslanders.
Starting this afternoon wet weather is on the cards for Townsville, Ayr, and Ingham with an 80% chance of rain today and tomorrow for each region.
Today Townsville will hit a top of 33, before dropping down to 30 for Thursday and Friday.
The chance of showers will lessen over the weekend, but temps will be staying around a reasonable 30 degrees.
Partly cloudy skies are predicted for most of next week for North Queensland with temps hovering around 31 for Townsville, Ayr, and Ingham.
The cooler conditions follow the news that Cyclone Owen has been downgraded after rapidly weakening in recent hours.
