1. Easter in the Gardens ll Friday 30 March to Monday 2 April 

For an Easter not to forget, be sure to check out The Hunter Valley Gardens, where there will be activities for the whole family, including a ferris wheel, a swing chair, a carousel and a super slide. Plus there will be an inflatable zone for kids and an area dedicated to toddlers. 

More importantly, every 45 minutes an Easter egg hunt will take place throughout the Gardens, however the guaranteed favourite is sure to be the Golden Egg hunt where the first seeker to find the football sized egg throughout the Gardens will score a family pass to the Hunter Valley Gardens.


2. Murrays Brewery ll Friday 30 March to Monday 2 April

This Easter at Murrays Brewey, there is something for the whole family to enjoy!

From serving goodies, such as Hot Cross Beer and Chocolate Easter Egg Beer to free blues concerts on the Easter Saturday and Sunday, you can sit back, relax and enjoy some well deserved R&R. 

To keep the kids entertained, they will host an Easter Sunday Kids Funday for kids to join in on the fun with an Easter egg hunt, arts and crafts and get their face painted.


3. Easter Egg Extravaganza ll Saturday 31 March

Be sure not to miss a visit from the very special Easter Bunny at Pacific Park this Saturday!

It will be all things Easter from 9am to 12pm and will include face painting, live entertainment from Little Scallywagz and the Jolly Pirates, a petting zoo and a treasure hunt all free of charge to keep not only the kids, but adults entertained!

And don't forget to say hello to the KOFM Street Patrol where you can sit back and watch the live entertainment! 


4. Easter Sunday Family Fun Day ll Sunday 1 April

Don’t miss out on the fun at the Sydney Junction Hotel, where there will be  pony rides, a petting zoo, a jumping castle, face painting and of course plenty of Easter eggs for the kids! 

The fun kicks off at 11am until 2pm on Easter Sunday and is bound to keep you entertained for hours!


 5. Easter Festival Polkolbin ll Saturday 31 March to Sunday 1 April

To eat more than your heart desires, check out the Easter Festival at the Hungerford Hill Wines in Polkolbin, where there will be food trucks, live music, helicopter rides and a jumping castle.



6. A-League, Newcastle Jets v. Melbourne City FC ll Sunday 1 April

Round 25 of the A-League kicks off this Sunday, with the Newcastle Jets taking on Melbourne City FC!

For a family orientated event, check out what is expected to be an intense match between two great teams!

There will also be kids races (ages 5-10 years old) against the Mascots, Julia Morris ticket giveaways, and a toddler race so that the whole family can enjoy the day out.

Gates open at 4pm, with kick off at 5pm!


7. Easter Fun Day ll Saturday 31 March

For a morning of fun, head to the Hunter Wetlands Centre in Shortland from 9:30am to 1pm where there will be a jumping castle, Easter craft, face painting and a sausage sizzle. You will even get to meet the Easter Bunny from 10am and if you dare, reptiles, at an interactive reptile talk.

Be sure to wear a hat, enclosed shoes, sunscreen and apply insect repellant before you head on in. 

Cost is $5 for adults and $2 for kids, unless you’re a wetlands member which is free of charge.
