Fried rice, risotto, rice pudding... The 2019 Rice Industry Awards will recognise the best of the best rice growers who bring us the key ingredient behind some of our fav dishes!
The Awards are a new initiative by Rice Extension and AgriFutures Australia that aim to bring "growers and industry together to celebrate the current and future success of the rice industry", and showcase "the best growers and farming practices, sustainability and business management".
Rice Extension have just announced the exciting high profile 2019 Rice Industry Awards partners, including the Ricegrowers’ Association of Australia, Port of Melbourne, Corteva Agriscience, NSW Department of Primary Industries, and the Rice Marketing Board for the State of NSW.
One of the world's largest rice food companies, SunRice, will also partner with the Grower of the Year Award, which is focused on "high achievement, innovation and environmental sustainability". Other awards include the Rice Extension Highest Yield for C19 Award, and the Ricegrowers' Association Honorary Councillor Award.
Nominations for the 2019 Rice Industry Awards will open in March, with the Awards announced at the RGA Annual Conference in August 2019. Find out more at the Rice Extension website.
