Fuel prices are soaring across South Australia, with motorists finding it difficult to score a low-cost fill-up after service stations pumped their prices to $1.87c/L.

Mark Borlace from RAA joined Roo and Ditts for Breakfast to discuss the surge in pricing, and chat in-depth about the cycle.

Ditts revealed premium unleaded fuel is set to skyrocket to $2.08c/L in the coming days.

"We are the most expensive in Australia, why would our petrol be more expensive than the state down the road?" Ditts asked.

Borlace said the pandemic has caused the world to seek demand for all types of energy, and fuel is far from excluded.

"The reason all of the cities are under price pressure, two things that affect the real cost of fuel; how much is the world crude oil price, and what is the strength of the Australian dollar."

Senior Manager of Future Mobility, Borlace added that the new cycle will come into play and fuel can still be found as low as $1.40c/L in some areas.
