MG has called for support for Greg Inglis after news that he has been granted a week's leave to recover from illness.

Rabbitohs coach Wayne Bennett told Fairfax on Tuesday that the 32-year-old had been struck down with a virus and that he couldn't "flog a dead horse".

But MG has suggested there's more going on than meets the eye, saying that Inglis was "entering the corridor of uncertainty".

Listen below:

While Bennett was open about giving his player more time off if he needs it, he did deny reports that Inglis was looking to walk away from the remaining two years on his contract.

"He was crook over the weekend, he had food poisoning," Bennett revealed. "He trained Saturday, he came in Monday, he was supposed to train but wasn't well enough.

"I looked at him, he looked shit and I said, 'Mate, go take the week off'

"I told him to go home, see his kids and his family and come back Monday. If he needs longer absolutely [he can have the time]."
