They’ve got the stadium, they’ve got the participation numbers, they’ve even got their own supermarket but according to Redcliffe NRL bid chair Terry Reader it’s the iconic Dolphins brand that sees the QRL club’s bid as the early favourite to snaffle the NRL’s seventeenth licence.

Speaking to Dobbo on The Rush Hour Queenslander Reader, the former chief commercial officer at the Broncos, told listeners the Dolphin brand, synonymous with the Moreton Bay region since the club’s inception in 1947, is what makes it especially given it blocked the Gold Coast bid from using its moniker back in 2006

“They (Gold Coast bid) tried to take the Dolphin. The Dolphin is well known all over Queensland and into New South Wales”
