Wild Medowie Police Pursuit Ends In Arrest

A teen is set to be charged following a wild pursuit from Medowie to Mayfield this morning.

Police spotted a 19-year-old wanted on outstanding warrants who was driving with two others on Medowie Road before pulling the car over.

It's alleged the Holden sedan was put into reverse as police approached the vehicle, hitting one of the officers and leaving them with minor injuries.

A chase then broke out but was terminated at Williamtown due to safety concerns before the car was spotted at Industrial Drive in Mayfield.

It's then broke down and the driver has run off before jumping into a truck and allegedly assaulting the driver inside.

A 19-year-old was eventually arrested thanks to help from the dog squad.

He's receiving treatment for minor injuries in the Mater Hospital.

While his two passengers - a 17-year-old boy and a 20-year-old woman - have been released without charge.
