Wine 'n' Dine - A Fine Way to Help Charity

Toowoomba's RACQ LifeFlight Rescue crews are called to patients, who are suffering serious illness and injuries, on a daily basis.

In the past year, the Darling Downs-based aeromedical teams flew more than 593 critical missions, at no cost to any of the people they have helped.

To keep up this vital work and ensure everyone is given the best treatment possible, it's important for RACQ LifeFlight Rescue staff to have access to the best training equipment on the market, like SimMan ALS Manikins (pictured below).

"The Medisim Manikin is specially designed for the needs of pre-hospital, emergency care providers. It provides training for basic, through to advanced life support skills, is mobile and durable," LifeFlight's Regional Development Advisor, Suzie Byrnes, said. 

The base is currently without the Medisim Manikin, which is priced at $45,000.

In a bid to help the base purchase the equipment, Toowoomba's Order of St John Knights Hospitaller is hosting Lunch on the Mountain Top, at Preston Peak Winery.

Guests will enjoy stunning views of the winery while dining on delicious locally-sourced, gourmet meals and award winning wine. 

The full amount of all ticket sales, will be donated back to RACQ LifeFlight Rescue.

"Your investment will contribute to the ongoing training and skills of doctors and paramedics, which will enhance the quality of care provided to the patients in our region.

"You can't put a price on a life. This donation will go toward saving hundreds of people in the region and we are so grateful for the Order of St John," Suzie said.
