A boost for our visitor and sporting sectors with the Wodonga Gold Cup holiday given the green light for the next five years.

November 25, 2022, November 24, 2023 , November 29, 2024, November 28, 2025 and November 27, 2026 will be public holidays for Wodonga instead of Melbourne Cup Day.

The holiday has been gazetted, after getting the tick of approval from Small Business Minister, Jaala Pulford.

Wodonga Mayor Kevin Poulton has welcomed the news, saying Racing Wodonga's work to build on its annual gold cup event would benefit the community.
