Woman allegedly stabbed by son in Bateau Bay

A young man faces Wyong court today, accused of stabbing his mother in a Domestic Violence-related assault in the Bateau Bay area overnight.

Police say they were called around 7:30pm, finding a 61 year old woman with a stab wound to her abdomen.

She's now in a serious condition but stable after being airlifted to Westmead hospital, while the 21 year old's been refused bail ahead of facing court.

More details regarding the incident are set to be released later today.
