A 60-year-old woman is in a stable condition in the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane after a freak accident yesterday afternoon on the Warrego Highway near Oakey.
Paramedics stabilised the seriously injured woman after a metal pole crashed through her windscreen impaling her. She was air-lifted to the Brisbane hospital in a critical condition.
It is believed the accident happened around 3:20pm when the object had came off a truck.
The Forensic Crash Unit is continuing its investigations after reports that debris had come off the back of another truck.
