TFS crews battle house fire

A fire has ravaged a home in Kingston this morning with crews from Kingston and
Hobart being called to the blaze.

On arrival at the Pine Avenue blaze at around 12:30am fire crews found half the building on fire with flames coming from the windows.

A 58 year old woman was quickly located inside the burning property and was transported to the Royal Hobart Hospital in critical condition.

Officials have kept watch on the house this morning and later today investigators will examine the scene, to determine the cause.

Meanwhile two specialist Tasmania Fire Service personnel who were deployed to Canada to assist with the wildfire effort will arrive back in Hobart today after a 42-day deployment.

Rochelle Richards and Neil Brooksbank are two of five TFS personnel who have been deployed to assist Canadian authorities.

Rochelle is the Planning Manager for TFS' Fuel Reduction Unit and has provided her expertise in Canada as a Fire Behaviour Analyst. Neil is a District Officer with TFS and was an Incident Controller role in an Incident Management Team.

Both are experts in their field and provided valuable expertise to Canadian authorities. They'll be welcomed home this afternoon at Hobart Airport.
