Not once, not twice but now three major fish kills on the Darling River near the Menindee Lakes in the space of 3 months. The last occurring with the recent change in temperature and rainfall, oxygen levels falling so low that fish cannot survive.
The situation so dire that local Dale McCleary from Griffith took donations of bottled water to the area over the weekend. Combined with contributions from Moama and Adelaide they delivered some 80,000 litres for the people who have no drinking water.
On his way back Dale got the news of the latest fish kill.
