You Can Earn $50 By Donating Your Poop

If you're looking to make a few quick bucks, it turns out your bowel movement could be the key to a small fortune.

That's right, poo transplants are a thing, and the Centre for Digestive Disease (CDD) wants to pay you for your poo.

The CDD is currently short of donors, with people who suffer from autism, multiple sclerosis and chronic diarrhoea benefiting from the treatment.

The process sees the patient eliminate bad gut bacteria using antibiotics, with a faecal transplant enema then used to repopulate the gut with good bacteria. The procedure will cost the receiving patient $700.

Each deposit earns the donator $50, or $250 per week.

To be eligible to donate, you must be of a normal weight and eat certain foods, such as wholemeal bread and pasta, veggies and fruit.

You also must live within an hour of the CDD in Five Dock, and be prepared to poop in a plastic container.

The sample must be delivered within two hours.

Currently, Professor Thomas Borody performs an average of 10 treatments per day, but more could be done if there are more donors.

The procedure will cost the receiving patient $700.
