"You Gotta Back It Up!" Gorden Tallis On Why It's OK To Demand More From Our Footy Players

Gorden "Gordie" Tallis has defended his comments about Tevita Pangai Jnr.'s performance on Friday after saying that he needs to "back it up".

Gordie couldn't heap enough praise on the 23-year-old - who dominated the Broncos' 29-10 win over the Cowboys at Suncorp Stadium - comparing him to Shane Webcke, Trevor Gillmeister and Tonie Carroll.

But after questions over his comments that he hoped Pangai Jnr. could continue his performance throughout the season, Gordie went on to explain why it's OK for us to demand more of our footy players.

"He was brilliant, but the challenge for him now is that he's got to back that up," Gordie said on Triple M's The Big Breakfast with Marto, Robin and Nick Cody.

"Broncos have been waiting for a leader, Marto, and I think they've found one in Tevita."
