You Want Tickets, Do What You Must

Ever Bought A Ticket From A Scalper?

Article heading image for You Want Tickets, Do What You Must

The bleating has started and I can't say I wasn't waiting for it after tickets "sold out" for the Eagles/Collingwood game in Perth next weekend.

Scalpers are offereing tickets at vastly inflated prices and the screaming is getting louder.

It might not be fair, it may not be right and if the WA govt gets a bill through parliament it will be illegal but scalpers are business people.

We live in a free market economy the central tennant of which is the economic principle of supply and demand, I have it, you want it, here's the price, nobody wants to pay that price, I'm stuck with it because of my bad business sense and greed, but if just 1 person pays the price that is the market accepting the deal. Pure economics.

Apparently a seller in Victoria is offering 6 tickets on ebay for nearly $400 each where the standard ticket price is from $30 to $93.

Fair? Maybe not. Basic business, yep.

From my experience there is very little complaining about the massive mark ups by the airlines and accomodation places in Melbourne yet anytime somebody wants to sell a ticket for more than face value they are close to the spawn of Satan.

What bull***t

"But I couldn't get a ticket"

TOUGH LUCK !!!!!

If you want to go, you'll find a way, you'll beg, borrow, do a deal if you really want to be there.

Consider this, if you were able some how to have the very last orange on the face of the earth and everybody wanted it would you sell it for 60c IF somebody else offered you $1,000,000?

You can always hear it here on Triple M and it won't cost you a zack!
