It's been 25 years since the contrived finish of the 1992 Bathurst 1000, which saw a fresh-faced Mark Skaife and Jim Richards lead the opinion dividing Nissan to victory.

In one of the most craziest race finishes in history with the heavy rain leading to a number of crashes, including the lead car driven by Richards, would eventually see the race red-flagged.

The race was stopped with the leader's currently on their 145th lap.

However, due to many cars crashing prior to the leader's completion of the 144th lap the race was woundback an additional lap to allow them to be placed.

The windback would crown Richards and Skaife winners as they were leading on the 144th lap, despite their car being completely totalled.

Much to the dismay of the predominantly Holden and Ford fans in attendance, which, led to a chorus of boo's when Richards and Skaife were presented as champions.

Richards responded to the crowd and he didn't hold back.

"This is going to remain with me for a long time, you're a pack of arseholes," Richards said. Listen to the full audio below.
