McDonald’s is experimenting with a huge change to Big Macs.

The burger chain hasn’t really messed with their flagship burger since it was introduced in 1967, but they’ve decided to give it a foodie flair by adding Thai hot sauce Sriracha to the mix.

Spicy Sriracha Big Macs are currently being tested in McDonald’s stores in Columbus, Ohio, alongside a Sriracha Mac dipping sauce.

A spokeswoman for McDonald’s told Buzzfeed that this is the first time the chain has switched out the ingredients in the Big Mac.

“This is a milestone for McDonald’s,” she said.

Big Mac fans will be relieved to note that the original Big Mac is still available alongside the new spicy version.

There’s no word on whether this burger will come to Australia at this stage.
