Avengers: Infinity War has already smashed another record, becoming the fastest ever film to reach $1 billion at the box office.

It's taken the blockbuster film just 11 days to hit $1 billion, topping the previous record set by Star Wars: The Force Awakens, who managed it in 12 days.

The seventh instalment in the Star Wars series was one of three films in history to top $2 billion, a feat the latest Avengers film will now be eyeing off.

It's become the sixth Marvel film to reach the milestone, already topping the likes of Wonder Woman, Guardians of the Galaxy and Justice League.

It comes after the film had the biggest opening weekend ever, setting all sorts of records.

It's an impressive feat considering the film hasn't even opened in China yet, with the film slated for a May 11 release.

It's right on track to go down as one of the biggest films of all time.
